Detailed Course Information
Be ready when help is hours away.
If you work or spend time in remote areas around Hervey Bay, the Fraser Coast, or beyond — this course is built for you.
The Remote Advanced First Aid course gives you the advanced skills to manage serious medical emergencies when professional help isn't close by. Whether you're in mining, agriculture, marine industries, or exploring the bush — this training could save a life.
What You'll Learn
This isn't a basic first aid refresh. You'll go well beyond the fundamentals:
CPR and resuscitation — advanced techniques aligned with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines
Oxygen therapy — how to safely administer oxygen at the correct flow rate
Life-threatening bleeding — using tourniquets and haemostatic dressings with confidence
Airway management — inserting basic airway adjuncts when it matters most
Specialised equipment — hands-on practice so you're comfortable using gear under pressure
Real-scenario simulations — practical training that mirrors what you'd actually face in the field
Who Is This Course For?
This course suits anyone who works in, or travels through, remote or isolated environments — including:
Mining and resources workers
Agricultural and farming teams
Marine and fishing industry workers
Outdoor recreation and tourism operators
Community health and volunteer workers
Anyone living or working beyond quick access to emergency services
Why Train Locally in Hervey Bay?
Training with a local provider means the scenarios are relevant to your environment — not a generic city setting. Our trainers understand the Fraser Coast region, the distances involved, and the real-world conditions you're likely to face.
All training meets Australian national clinical guidelines and workplace health and safety requirements.
